Question
We are a reseller of Supermicro. I want to know whether X9SCL+-F board supports the following memory? I tested but it doesn't work.

http://www.kingston.com/dataSheets/KVR1333D3S8R9S_2GHB.pdf

But it works with this:
http://www.valueram.com/datasheets/KVR1333D3E9S_2G.pdf

What is the problem with the first one? What are differences between them?

Answer
Based on product specifications, X9SCL+-F motherboard only supports DDR3 ECC Un-Buffered memory. KVR1333D3S8R9S is a registered memory, it’s not a correct type for X9SCL+-f motherboard. KVR1333D3E9S is DDR3 ECC Un-Buffered memory and is the correct type, that’s why it works.
