Do you have idea why this 1017GR-TF series server can support only E5-2600 series CPU, where its MB only X9SRG-F can support both E5-2600 and E5-1600?

Answer
Tcase for E5-1600 series is only 64.0 °C but E5-2600 is 77.4°C. For 1U chassis, the thermal will be big concern, since E5-1600 can not tolerence the high temperature, it's not suggested.
