The red over-heat LED on the front panel lit right away, whenever the server was turned on. My motherboard is X8DTi rev 1.03.

Answer
Please try the memory of a different brand name. The motherboard supports the Memory Over-Heat Event. If the temperature setting in SPD is incorrect or the DIMM is incompatible, the memory may trigger the event, hence the red over-heat LED & the audible alert, as soon as the system is powered on. Please always use the memory tested okay by Supermicro, when applicable. The tested memory list can be found in each product’s webpage.
