We had ordered the following Blade enclosure, the Blades & the 10G switch.
SBE-710E-D28 Enclosure
SBI-7126T-S6 Processor Blade
SBM-GEM-X2C Nework Switch
We want to run 4x QDR Infiniband and would really like to connect to a storage subsystem. What are we missing? Also, you mentioned that there is a newer Infiniband module that goes into the blade chassis that allows both Infiniband channels to be run. We would like to know what that part is.

In order to support the 4X QDR Infiniband, you’ll need either an AOC-IBH-XQS (single-port) or an AOC-IBH-XQD (dual-port) to install on each Blade motherboard, and a SBM-IBS-Q3616M QDR Infiniband switch to plug in the enclosure. However, the SBM-IBS-Q3616M switch can only be used in SBE-710Q or SBE-720E enclosure. The SBE-710E enclosure you ordered can’t be used for the QDR implementation. Please change the chassis first.
For both QDR channels to be run, you have to install an AOC-IBH-XQD dual-port Mezzanine HCA card to the Blade motherboard first, and then install the BMB-CMM-002 mini-CMM module into SBM-IBS-Q3616M Infiniband switch. If you don’t use the mini-CMM, there won’t be a space in the enclosure big enough to take one SBM-CMM-001 standard CMM module & two SBM-IBS-Q3616M Infiniband switches. Two Infiniband switches are required to allow both channels to be run.
