I have X8DTL-I motherboard. I am using two CPUs – will only installing 3 KVR1333D3D4R9S/4G to get 12GB work in a 2 CPU configuration?

The memory is direct connected to processor. The memory hub controller is inside the BIOS. It recommended to populated memory for each processor install.
