I have a chassis with a SAS-2 expander backplane in it. I am using the SATA hard drives. The backplane doesn’t seem to have the WWN support for the hard drive. Also, the speed of the fan attached to the backplane can be adjusted for a brief moment and will return to full-speed mode. Is the fan speed hardcoded?

It’s the SATA hard drive that doesn’t have the WWN support. Yes, the fan speed is hardcoded in the backplane firmware and can’t be changed.
