Most of your motherboards use Intel ICH10R RID. According to Intel, it supports hot spare. But our Engineers couldn’t make it happen. The key here is we need to set up the RAID before load OS.
Under Intel ICH10R south bridge SATA raid controller is does support raid level 5 with hot spare. But however, the hot spare option is not under Intel Raid BIOS setup GUI. It required to install Intel Storage Management utility then it can be setup Hot Spare and Rebuild if one of hard drive fail.
