Question
One question regarding CSE-M35TQ, this SAS/SATA enclosure has 5X3.5” HDD bays, it comes with 1 x CBL-0097L-02 79536-3220, 50cm IPASS to 4 SATA, assuming IPASS connector will be connected to a mini-SAS port on the controller, and 4 SATA will be connected to this enclosure directly, what about the 5th port? How do we connect it?

There are three suggestions:
1.Connect only 4 SATA/SAS ports from M35TQ with iPASS-SATA cable and leave the 5th HDD idle without cable
connected as spare drive for replacement whenever one of the 4 drives fails.
2.Connect the 5 SATA/SAS ports from M35TQ to motherboard which has 5 or more SATA/SAS connectors such as
X8DTL-3/X8DAL-3 motherboards with LSI chipset enabled.
3.Connect the 5 SATA/SAS ports from M35TQ to the RAID controller with 2 iPASS ports.
