Could you please inform us as how Supermicro defines the term "link aggregation"? Does this mean that if three 1GBps ports are link aggregated together on both ends of two respective switches (sse-g24/g48-tg4 devices) then the user should expect 3GBps throughput between each the two sse-g24/g48-tg4 devices?
Yes, that is the generally accepted definition of Link Aggregation and that is how we use it. Aggregating three 1Gbps links between two end points will give an “aggregate” bandwidth between them of 3Gbps. We can aggregate up to 8 links between any two different switches. There can be as many as 24 Link Aggregation groups per switch (obviously not all could have 8 links).
