We want to be able to connect a SuperBlade chassis to some fiber channel based storage through a Cisco Nexus 5020 10G switch that has a fiber channel model and support for FCoE. Will this work in the SuperBlade with the 10G pass-through switch and the Mellanox IB card?
Yes, this can work. The appropriate IB card is the AOC-IBH-003. It will need different firmware than the standard product we ship so we would need to update it to allow operation as an Ethernet NIC. There will also be a need to obtain the appropriate Driver for the NIC from Mellanox, not all OS versions are completely supported with Mellanox FCoE (Fibre Channel over Ethernet).
