Question
Do your 10GbE Blade solutions support TCP offload?
Print
Answer
Generally speaking, TCP offload is normally done by a NIC or its driver. So our switches, being outside that domain and really only interested in switching Ethernet (not TCP), don’t do the offload.

However, the NIC we currently offer for use with the 10G Pass-Through for the Blade is the mezzanine card normally used for InfiniBand which has the Mellanox ConnectX chip on it. That chip does support “TCP/UDP/IP stateless offload in hardware”.
