Question
We have X10DRL-C (BIOS v2.0), three Toshiba MG04SCA40EA (4TB SAS) CONFIG by onboard 3108 RAID5 to install Server 2012 R2.

After UEFi installation, we found that there is no "Windows Boot Manager" under BIOS boot menu, hence can’t boot into this VD (RAID 5).

If switching HDDs to WD "WD4001FYYG" to do the same test, "Windows Boot Manager" is visible under BIOS, also no problems to boot into OS, pls advise.

Answer
Soft remind, Toshiba MG04SCA40EA is 4KN HDD.

Avago legacy option ROM BIOS only understands and supports 512 sector drives.
To be able to boot from the VD with 4KN drives, pls change BIOS SAS option ROM from "Legacy" to "EFI".

The "EFI" setting will be able to boot from the VD, whether it is created with 4K sector drives or 512 sector drives.

Path: Advanced >> PCIe/PCI/PnP Configuration >> Onboard SAS OPROM >> EFI (default is Legacy)
