Cascading can be done in a variety of exotic ways. To date we have tested cascading across backplane models (i.e. 216E2 to 836E2) as well as similar models (i.e. 216E2 to 216E2). Cascading can be achieved by either connecting RAID card’s internal port to the expander and then connect the expander’s external port to the next box in the chain or use the external port of a RAID card and connect to a expander backplane.
