Question |
We are building an x9scl-f with an add-on vga card (which we don’t do very often!). Can you tell me whether I need to disable the onboard vga for the add-on to work? If so where do I find this option? |

No, this should not be necessary, In the bios there is a setting: Advanced -> PCIe/PCI/PNP configuration -> boot graphics adapter priority -> set to offboard.
Now the add-on graphics is primary and the onboard VGA is secondary. But this will also mean that there is no KVM function within IPMI anymore. If you leave the bios setting to "onboard first", you will have VGA output under dos from onboard, you have VGA output to IPMI, and in the OS you have also output from the add-on graphics card. |
