Question
I have your 6047R-E1R36N server, the system pre-configuration with AOC-SAS2LP-H8iR raid controller. However, I install two Intel SSD drives to on-board I-SATA controller configuration as raid level for my OS boot drive and AOC-SAS2LP-H8iR raid controller setup as raid 50 for my data. After complete install Centos 6.3 OS on my Intel Raid 1 controller, the OS does not boot up. Please help.
Answer
The AOC-SAS2LP-H8iR take over priority boot ROM. Go into the BIOS setup under the Advance PCIe/PCI/PNP setting menu find option call “CPU1 Slot 1 PCI-E 3.0 x16 OPROM/CPU1 Slot 2 PCI-E 3.0 x4 OPROM/CPU1 Slot 3 PCI-E 3.0 x16 OPROM/CPU2 Slot 1 PCI-E 3.0 x16 OPROM/CPU2 Slot 2 PCI-E 3.0 x16 OPROM/CPU1 Slot 1 PCI-E 3.0 x8 OPROM”. If the AOC-SAS2LP-H8iR card install on PCI-E slot 1 then make sure the slot 1 option ROM is disable.
