I have a server that has both GigE and Broadcom 10G on-board ports. When using PXE boot, the machine is only trying the Broadcom 10G ports. How do I enable PXE boot from the GigE port?

This is normal because the board is configured to try the 10G links first and if that is unsuccessful it will failover to the 1G Links. To change the default setting, you have two options:


1) Go to BIOS setup, Advanced -> PCIe/PCI/Pnp Configuration -> BCM57810S 10G OPROM set to disable.

OR
2) Go to BIOS setup, Boot -> Network Device BBS Priorities -> 1st Device ? Change settings from “BRCM MBA …” to “IBA GE Slot 8400 v1513”, which is the name for on-board 1G LAN.

3) Save and reboot.
