Having trouble getting X9DAL-I motherboard to recognize DVD drive I have plugged into I-SATA ports 6-9. BIOS bug?

Answer
The DVD device need to be install on one of the I-SATA 0-5 port which Intel refer as “AHCI”. I-SATA 6- 9 port will refer as SCU (Storage Control Unit) port. SCU port only support hard drives. In BIOS->Advanced section, you will see “SATA Configuration” and “SCU Configuration”.
