Question |
I have a Supermicro S2DGE server board that has the Intel 440GX chipset and I was wondering if I can install Dual Xeon 700MHz’s (SL49R) 700/100/2M cache 2.8 Volt processors in the motherboard. Or do I need to purchase the Dual Xeon 700MHz (SL49S) 700/100/2M cache 5V or 12V processor? Which processor do I need, the 2.8V or the 5V/12V CPU? |

Answer |
You can only use the 2.8 volt processor versions and must have the current BIOS revision (3.1). This server board was made before the 5/12 volt Xeon processor and does not have these voltages available on the slot 2 CPU connectors. |
