Question
We're using INTEL SSD 750 Series on X10DRL-I and would like to install Windows Server 2012 R2, but system report some errors during OS installation.
Answer
PCI-E NVMe SSDs are only supported in UEFI mode BIOS.
Here are NVMe PCI-e SSD OS installation SOP for your reference.

1. Go into the bios to the section Advanced -> PCIe/PCI/PnP Configuration and change the Device Option Rom Configure “UEFI mode” from Legacy on Riser card slot or PCIe slot.

2. Boot >> Boot mode select >> UEFI
3. Save and exit the BIOS.

4. During the post press F11 and select “UEFI: DVD-ROMxxxxxxxx” to start the installation. Some OS versions include built in drivers.

5. Reboot after OS installation, press F11 again and select “Windows Boot Manager” to load the OS.

It is best to change the boot sequence in the BIOS if it is not in first boot device select "Windows Boot Manager" as first boot device in the BIOS.
