Question
Why does the Intel NIC’s (X710/XL710/XXV710) LLDP bonding goes down/does not work and the NIC cards are not advertising to the network?

Answer
By default, the Intel NIC’s (X710/XL710/XXV710) FW is LLDP-enabled, and while it is running, it prevents the operating system and application from receiving LLDP traffic from the network adapter.
•The FW-LLDP setting is per port and persists across reboots
•The FW-LLDP Agent is required for DCB to function.

You can use the following command to confirm if disabling LLDP in FW will work or not.  This setting will reset upon reboot (not persistent)
# sudo ethtool --set-priv-flags <devname> disable-fw-lldp on

If the above command works, then please request LLDP disable FW for your specific NIC from Support.
