Question
For X11Dpi-NT; Under the Advanced – SATA Configuration, there is a SATA Device Type to change it from [Hard Disk Drive] and [Solid State Drive]. The question is, does setting this option effect the performance of the drive or is this option used as more of an identifier to the type of drive connected, or maybe it does something else?

Answer
This setting will affect PCH SATA throttling action. PCH has different thermal policies for HDD and SSD. It is recommended to change the SATA device type to the certain drive your end user is using.
