Question
I have the X11DDW-NT motherboard in CSE826 chassis with RSC-R2UW-4E8 riser card but when installing the OS the system is not able to detect the LSI controller but my NVMEs are able to be detected by the OS successfully.
Answer
Please note that the WIO riser communicates with the onboard WIO riser through SXB1 and SXB2 on the motherboard WIO interface. The SXB1 connects the two lower PCIE slots to the CPU1 through SXB1. The SXB2 connects the two upper PCIE slots to CPU2 through SXB2. If you have NVME that are raided with VMD enabled for the PCIE on SXB1 then the two low PCIEs slots 1 and 2 will be dedicated for VMD use only. It will no longer support any PCIE device. So, you will have to install the LSI on the two upper PCIE slots that are correlated to SXB2. If you have more questions, you can refer to page 10 of the motherboard user manual. https://www.supermicro.com/manuals/motherboard/C620/MNL-1907.pdf
