Question
What is SES2? How important is it to Servers?
Print
Answer
SES2 stands for SCSI Enclose Service 2. SES2's functions are very much same as SAF-TE. SAF-TE is for SCSI while SES2 is for SAS. SES2 will provide you with a peace of mind knowing that your storage is being monitored. Should anything happens such as drive failures, overheating, etc SES2 will alarm and prompt you to take action immediately. SES2 will be available on all your “A” and “TQ” chassis such as SC816A and SC733TQ.
