Question
Super Micro BIOS and IPMI show the CPU temperature reading as low, medium and high. What does the low, medium and high ranges represent?
Answer
Low, medium and high temperature ranges are as below:

Low: T < CPU overheat temperature -10
Medium: CPU overheat temperature -10 < T < CPU overheat temperature
High: T > CPU overheat temperature

T: Temperature of CPU in degrees centigrade

CPU Overheat temperature varies from 60’C ~ 90’C depending on the model. E.g. CPU overheat temperature is 67’C for Xeon E5450.
