Answer
We are expanding our products line and use three different types of BIOS: AMI, Award and Phoenix. Each type has a different approach in the flashing process. If your system does not have any problem, please do not flash the BIOS. We are not responsible for any damage from updating BIOS.

**Before flash BIOS...
i. Download the BIOS zip file form our Resources Page based on the motherboard you have.
ii. Unzip the zip file into a blank floppy disk. Please read the readme.txt since it may contain important instructions.
iii. Prepare a Win98 bootable floppy disk. You can download one from here.

I. AMI:
a. To flash BIOS:
i. Boot up the system that you want to flash its BIOS from a Win98 boot disk
ii. Type A:\>amiflash
iii. Inside AMI Flash Programming Utility:
1. Answer "y" for yes when asked "Save Existing BIOS?" or "n" for no. If you answer yes, go (2) else go (3).
2. Enter filename: Super.rom //must use "super.rom" for recovery procedure. Your old BIOS will be save floppy under the name "super.rom"
3. Input the new BIOS filename.rom at "Enter BIOS Filename:" and answer yes for "Program Boot Block?"
4. When finished, reboot the system.
b. To recover BIOS:
i. Insert the floppy disk that contains old BIOS under the name "super.rom"
ii. Press, hold "Ctrl" and "Home" keys and power on the system.
iii. The system will beep a few times and access the floppy drive. Once the system does this, release "Ctrl" and "Home" keys.
iv. System will reboot once the BIOS recovery completed.

II. Award:
a. To flash BIOS:
i. Boot up the system that you want to flash its BIOS from a Win98 boot disk.
ii. Type A:\>awdflash [BIOS filename.bin] /py/wb/cd/sn/cc/r
iii. System will flash BIOS from here, and reboot once it finishes.
b. To recover BIOS:
i. Insert the floppy disk that contains a BIOS file and awdflash utility into floppy drive.
ii. Power on the system and at the same time press Alt + F2 until the system brings up Award flash utility.
iii. Remove BIOS disk when done and reboot the system.

III. Phoenix:
a. To flash BIOS:
i. Boot up the system that you want to flash its BIOS from a Win98 boot disk.
ii. Type A:\>phlash/s/cz/mfg/mode=3 [BIOS filename.rom]
iii. System will flash BIOS from here, and reboot once it finishes.
b. To recover BIOS: we do not recommend customers to try recovering BIOS once flashing fails. Please contact our RMA to get a BIOS chip replacement.
