Question
I am interested in your new X6xxx series of motherboards and require an approximation of the power budget of the base motherboard only. Do you have this data?

Answer
Please review the following data.

Average Power budget
  • 12V – two watts (Voltage Regulators for processors and memory unloaded – no processor or memory installed)
  • 5 V – 25 watts (North Bridge = 15watts, other motherboard components = 10 watts)
  • 3.3V – 12 watts (South Bridge = 5 watts, other motherboard components = 7 watts)
  • -12V – no current load.

Maximum power budget

Please add 30 percent to all values listed above.

Please use the numbers above as base motherboard. When other on-board devices are used then the 5 volt and 3.3 volt current requirements increase (Example onboard SCSI, SATA, and LAN).
