Question
How can I enable the Power Loss Data Protection(PLP) for Intel SSD P3700? I used the command "Get-PhysicalDisk | Get-StorageAdvancedProperty" to check it, but it shows False. Does the BIOS or H/W have to change any settings? My system is SYS-2028BT-HTR+.

Answer
The drive itself has PLI protection to ensure data in flight is transferred to the media. The command is being read for external power protection. Intel does not report this feature back to the host and that is why it is "FALSE". The drive has PLI capacitors to support this and it is invisible to the host.

If you want to enable that option, you can do the following. However, Intel does not advise whether or not a user should do this action. Users should assess their situation and determine if this what they need to do:

Set-StoragePool -FriendlyName -IsPowerProtected $True

From the help screen this command will do the following: -If you specify a value of $True for this parameter, the storage pool does not perform flush operations, and the pool removes write-through attributes from commands.
