Question
What are those differences between BMC "power cycle" and "power reset"?

Answer
Power Cycle (also called "chassis power cycle" or similar):
Fully powers off the server (simulating an AC power cycle or pulling the plug briefly), then powers it back on. This performs a cold boot.
The system transitions to an S5 (soft-off) state before restarting.

Power Reset (also called "Reset," "chassis power reset," "hard reset," or "warm restart"):
Performs a warm reset/reboot without fully powering off. It is equivalent to pressing the front-panel reset button or a Ctrl+Alt+Del-style restart.
The system stays in an S0 (working) state and simply restarts.
