How do I know my BMC's lockdown status?

You can use SAA command GetLockdownMode.

Example:
OOB:  ./saa -i 192.168.34.56 -u ADMIN -p PASSWORD -c
GetLockdownMode

In Band: ./saa -c GetLockdownMode
