The latest of these exciting rumors came from renowned hardware leaker @momomo_us. According to him, Supermicro is developing a diagram for what seems to be the upcoming X12DPi-N motherboard. Further, he revealed the benchmark results of a still-unnamed 14-core, 28 thread Intel processor.

New form factors are massively disruptive to established ecosystems. They require changes at every turn. Fortunately, Supermicro already had a 1U server designed for Intel’s ruler form factor, so when EDSFF was finalized with very slight modifications, it didn’t take long for Supermicro to tweak the connectors and officially support EDSFF as well.
Supermicro updated its servers with the new Intel Xeon E-2200 Series for Servers. The company’s platforms from the Xeon E-2100 series can be updated to support the newest processor series with a BIOS upgrade.
